Naruto, Vol. 1: Uzumaki Naruto
by Masashi Kishimoto
i genuinely consider naruto to be my favorite story of all time.
what begins as a standard shonen manga about child soldiers eventually blossoms into a thorough examination of war, humanity, bodily autonomy, unconditional love, forgiveness of oneself, healing of generational trauma, grief, redemption, and achieving one’s own personal enlightenment.
i have tried many other shonen, and none hit the same. naruto truly is that special. i will carry these characters with me for the rest of my life.
