 I think my overall enjoyment of this novel was impacted because I read a book of the same genre right before. The hookup element of the romance wasn't that big of a turn off for me. It was well-paced and neither one of the POV's overshadowed the other It didn't shy away from the darker side of romantic and familial relationships. If domestic and emotional abuse are things that you don't like in your novels, skip this one. The small town clichés were the biggest turn-off for me. The 3rd act conflict between Alexis and Daniel happened a little later than I expected.
