Mo' Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove by Ben Greenman, Questlove

4.0

This is a fun and funky book. Questlove writes a memoir, but also a critique of music and a dialog about how we should listen and appreciate music. He uses these themes to discuss the formative aspects of the Roots and his missteps. The writing is cheery and has a bit of bounce to it, and the topics are well thought out. I like that there are no real bitchslaps or attacks, there is some conflict with labels and people, but nothing that is disrespectful.
