Love Always, Wild
by A.M. Johnson
I had this on my kindle for so long but I kept putting it off because I thought it would be heavy on the angst, so I was saving it for when I was in that mood ... I was super wrong though because this is so low in angst that I feel silly for not reading it sooner (well low by my standards anyway!!)
I really enjoyed this second chance romance though. Wild and his dramatics were so entertaining, Jax was adorable and none of the prominent side characters annoyed me. There's even a cat and a dog!!
For me to rate it higher though I just needed more on the emotional side of things. Like yes, what happened was sad, but because that happens right at the beginning of the story we don't know the characters enough for it to really impact me that much. I wasn't invested in them enough for it to really break my heart - but I think that's the Demiromantic in me, I need a strong connection to characters before I really care about them. Their initial reunion was heartbreaking, but they figured things out really quickly after that so it wasn't emotionally difficult. It was just missing something for me to get that connection to either character.
I am looking forward to reading the next book though, but now I know this is a fairly low angst series it's not really what I was in the mood to read, so the next book might have to wait til I've satisfied the dark and moody craving I have!
