The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella
4.0

I love Sophie Kinsella. While her books may not be literary masterpieces and often feature similar main characters, they are always fun to read and make me laugh out loud. The Burnout was no different- I related to Sasha and enjoyed her story as well as the romance, though some parts made me cringe.

My favorite part of this novel was the ending, which is rare when I am reading a romance.
SpoilerNormally I cannot stand the miscommunication trope, but I think it was done very well in The Burnout. Yes, Sasha was assuming Finn was hung-up on the ex-girlfriend, but she was also right that they were both in bad places to start a relationship. She ended things maturely and both her and Finn acted like adults and were able to resolve the issues in their personal lives before reconnecting on a romantic level. I appreciated Sasha's character development throughout the novel and was happy with where she ended up.
