it took me forever to read this because i just was not hooked at all, and it unfortunately did not end up feeling worth the amount of time i invested into it. had a lot going for it in terms of the technical quality of the writing, but the plot and characters just weren't there for me at all

(also, sometimes there are plot twists that feel like an insult to one's intelligence. this is one of those twists)
