Frost Station Alpha: The Complete Series by Ruby Lionsdrake

3.0

I was kind of torn about how to rate this one cause there was a lot to like about it but I just couldn’t get past the whole lusting after and having sex with ( and then falling for) the guy who brutally murdered pretty much all her co-workers. Sure they were in a crappy position and desperate but they made no effort to find a different solution which didn’t involve violence and murder. They attacked the station without provocation and killed a bunch of innocent workers for their own ends. They ARE terrorists. Plus it wasn’t even a good plan that would result in their survival. It was a fucking dumb plan. AS if any gvt/military wouldn’t immediately nuke the moon as soon as they got their terraforming equipment delivered.

I liked how Tamsyn tried to kill Makk a couple of times but all too soon she was lusting after him (pretty much before the blood of her co-workers was even dry). I did kind of enjoy how besotted Makk is with Tamsyn tho, especially how delighted in her he seems to be every time she tries to kill him or escape. It was way more believable from his side that he would fall for the ‘enemy’ cause she hadn’t attacked his people or murdered a bunch of them. I liked the way it was all resoled too, a clever solution so they could be together but I still couldn’t really get behind the whole romance HEA thing for the aforementioned reasons.
