Only Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer

2.0

Books by disgraced Tory Peers don't often darken my bookshelves - but this was a freebie, so I ran with it, partly as it is largely set in Bristol, where I live.

There are six more books in the series, which I'm unlikely to read, but it was, actually, not a bad yarn - but the writing was a bit a heavy-handed*. The narrative was layered with events related by various characters in a series of overlapping sections. In the hands of a more skilful wordsmith, some of the initially unexplained twists would have been hinted at in the subsequent narratives - not hammered home with a jackhammer.
