The Legendary Miss Lena Horne by Carole Boston Weatherford

4.0

This picture book covers the life of Lena Horne. It covers her early life, how she became an actress and singer, and how she dealt with constant racism in her career. It would be nice to have some back matter about the NAACP, segregation, and black and white movies since they are reference so frequently in the book. But as it stands this is a great biography of an amazing woman, and it shows the difficulties black people faced during her lifetime.
