A Children's Bible
by Lydia Millet
a funny, cynical dystopia. the world seems to be ending, but it's all rather vague, which i appreciated. i kept getting the children mixed up, but i appreciated their characterization when there was some. the pacing and the dialogue were amusing and believable, as was the suddenness of the events.
there was a deus ex machina moment toward the end, which i found ludicrous.
