I can see why this is viewed as one of the great classics; Forster’s use of the English language and understanding of human behaviour is supreme. I struggled to keep up my concentration with the older style of English, but hugely enjoyed the vivid descriptions; every location was so clear in my mind. Margaret is undoubtedly my favourite character - a pragmatist through and through, but with an appreciation for romance and decency.
