Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

3.0

nothing will top the second novel about the Brown sisters but this one was also a nice refreshment in the end of the year rush of things. i am in awe of how the author creates her characters, how she handles bisexual representation, depiction of characters on the autism spectrum. she does that so skillfully and others should fucking learn because honestly i don’t know if i’ve read a romance writer who does that so magnificently.
eve and jacob work for me, i can feel the chemistry but for some reason i found it very hard to get into at the moment. still, the rainbow, sugar coating feel of it made me feel all sparkly inside when following the novel. eve was so relatable and real for me i thought of her as of my friend. she reads smut on ao3!!! i’ve never read about a character who does that and that’s just so painfully real. was the third act drama necessary? not really but i’m gonna let this one slide as i guess this is the construction of author’s novels and hey, let her do her thing cause she is doing amazing. additionally, a family that can work through their problems???? no unnecessary angst?!? thank u
the b&b, gingerbread festival setting - this is the closest i felt to gilmore girls for some reason.
i will miss the Brown sisters for sure now that the journey has come to an end. might actually tear up in the tram.
