I had the honor of being a beta reader for The Hollow Plane and also an ARC reviewer, I shall try to be as spoiler free as I can.

Y’all should know by now how much I adore Allison’s books. I have read every single one multiple times, all her short stories, literally anything that is published. And when I tell y’all her books keep getting better and better, I do not exaggerate.

The Hollow Plane is a dual POV, gaslmap fantasy romance. It made my heart pound, soul shatter, and brain suffer. And I loved it.

The World Building: Sirin is a gorgeous new world created by ACW. And oh my goodness I forgot how much I adore gaslamp fantasy settings. The magic system, the high society world, the mystery and crime world, the beautiful luxurious aesthetics. It’s so wonderful.

The main characters: Mina and Ashborne have my heart. Their pull to each other, their traumas, their internal struggles, their desires (both for each other and in finding purpose) I just am obsessed with them both. Watching them be drawn together, pulled into twisty plots, forced to make hard choices, all while creating a small found family, my heart.

The Best Trope: For those of you who know me, enemies to lovers is my favorite trope. The unique way ACW does this in The Hollow Plane is BRILLIANT. I don’t want to give too much away. But the amnesia element to it is so devestating in so many ways.

Since this is book one in a duology, it DOES have a cliffhanger. I texted Allison in tears, if that tells you anything! It’s so worth it.

The Hollow Plane is out today. Please check it out if you love gaslamp fantasy romances, queer and neurodivergent cast, unique take on enemies to lovers, found family, slow burn, and characters that will steal your heart and not give it back.
