Year One by Nora Roberts
Did not finish book. Stopped at 33%.
None of it was working out for me: I didn’t feel anything for the one-dimensional characters; the magic and its origins weren’t really explored as far as when I stopped (everything just sort of...happened); the themes that were starting to emerge seemed too simple for me. I could go on, but I think you get that I just have issues with this book.
(Also, I like how the only queer character we see so far is a side character that gets two seconds of fame when he explains how his husband and the rest of his family died 😐)

Graphic: Suicide, Suicidal thoughts, and Terminal illness
Moderate: Child death, Death, Death of parent, and Blood
By terminal illness, I mean that a pandemic kills two billion people.
