One of my favorite things about this book was the way I felt transported to the Scottish Highlands. The writing was flawless and really had me immersing myself in the story. I liked that there were some jokes about the dialogue differences between Scottish English and American English. Overall, it was a great read.
I loved Reagan’s character arc. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from her after how she was portrayed in Robyn’s book, but I definitely wasn’t expecting to like her from page one. Her character had a lot of growth and it was written exceptionally well. She was still the happy go lucky girl she’d always been, but she learned how to be vulnerable and fight for what she wanted.
Thane was a little bit of a let down to me. He was still the devoted father I’d come to expect, but the way he treated Reagan disappointed me a little. He was so stuck on her age he couldn’t see what was right in front of him. Reagan was the missing piece to his family and it took Thane a little too long to realize that.
Overall I liked this book. It had a good plot with several peaks of suspense. I liked seeing Robyn and Lochlan settled in their relationship. I liked the way Robyn and Reagan mended their relationship. I liked Reagan and Thane’s compatibility and the way they both loved his kids. And it definitely ended on a high note.
