Diablo Mesa by Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child

I STRENUOUSLY disliked this novel. I wouldn't say hate because I didn't invest that much time in it. By the end, it was a hate read that I had to get through. I have enjoyed the first two novels in this series, but this thing... It started out with all the same elements as the other novels. I wasn't blown away, but I was hanging in there - and then it turned into a bad X-Files episode. Don't get me wrong, I was an X-Phile back in the day. This is like an X-Files plot someone wrote on a Post-It note. Think of the worst sci-fi aliens crash landed on Earth movies with the obsequious military cover up. Take that and put it between book covers and you have this novel.
