This is the largest book I've read in a long time–it's almost 1,000 pages long, but evokes a much more expansive world than would reasonably fit in those scant pages.
It's also sneakily difficult to read. I'd often realize that the setting or scene had suddenly switched out from under me, and need to go back and re-read the section closely to figure out what happened.
