True Harmony

3⭐️/5⭐️
I thought this was a solid second chance romance (?) book, I liked both Eliza and Mason. I think I would’ve felt more connected if I had read the previous books but nonetheless I still really enjoyed this book. I adored all the scenes of Mason, Eliza and Calvin, especially the scenes of Mason and Calvin, so cute!
SPOILERS AHEAD:
Things I liked:
- Mason asking to see pictures of Calvin
- Mason and Calvin’s first time meeting each other
- “they began a duet, with Calvin banging on his drum, keeping a beat, and both of them singing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” Mason with the mic.”
- Mason thanking Eliza for being such a good mom
- Mason telling is mom how special his son is
- Mason rushing over to Eliza’s after a storm caused a tree to fall through the roof
- “Now here he was, exiting the elevator on the top floor of his condo while the sun was still up for once. He could admit it—he was eager to see how Calvin liked the gift he’d had delivered.”
- He got Calvin a train set
- “Mason said, unable to hold in a smile as the reality of the situation sank in—his son was happy to see him.”
- He calls him C (my heart)
- Calvin asking if he can ride on Mason’s shoulders instead of his back (because he used to talk about all the daycare dads carrying their kid on their shoulders)
- HE KISSED HER
- Eliza agreeing to stay with Mason until their house is ready
- “He lowered himself all the way to a kneel as his son sidled up right next to him”
- “But as Calvin sat down on top of Mason’s knees, still talking nonstop and so avidly, the truth burrowed into Mason’s chest. This was the best kind of welcome home”
- When they told Calvin that Mason is his dad
- “Come here,” Mason said, arms out, and that’s all it took. Calvin threw himself into his dad’s arms, giggling like a banshee.”
- “Mason held his arms out, and their son leaped into them. When Calvin wrapped his arms around him in another hug, Mason shared a private look with Eliza, and then the four of them headed off toward the main gate.”
- His family made them “welcome to the family” cupcakes
- When Eliza left Calvin with Mason for a night and the apartment was ruined when she got back lol
- “This was new. This hint of vulnerability from Mason North, CEO, family leader, and general bossy-pants… It was sort of adorable.”
- “Did you kiss my mama?” Calvin said in his outdoor voice. “Mason rubbed Calvin’s head with affection and leaned to his ear and whispered, “Shhh. But she looks pretty tonight, doesn’t she?” He winked at the boy, who looked at his mama and nodded. “Our little secret?”
- “He loved Eliza Bancroft. And he suspected she loved him too.”
- Oop they said I love you
- HES GOING BACK TO NASHVILLE
- “I was missing something. I screwed up.” He kissed the knuckles of one of her hands. “I had the pilot turn around and bring me back as soon as we landed.”
- “Family hug,” Mason said, pulling the two of them into a happy tangle of arms and kisses. Eliza held on to both her guys. Never had anything felt so amazing, so right, so perfect.”
- “We’re having a baby. Another baby.” “A sibling for Calvin,” he said, his grin widening. “Grandson number two for my mom.”
