Though a lot of reviews I've seen for When No One Is Watching take issue with the pacing, I didn't mind at all how intensely this book escalates. I was interested from the first few pages and the sharp transition in intensity felt like more of a reward than a burden to me, matching the mood of the story and how anxious I was to find out what happens next. 

It's only 2 weeks into the year but I know this is going to stay one of my favorite books I've read in 2021.
