Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines

2.0

I'm the type of person that can really appreciate zombies and superheroes. I love this kind of stuff. But this book really did not live up to it's potential. You can definitely tell that this is Clines' first novel. The idea of the book is an interesting one, but it lacked what it takes to be a really great story. There was not much to the plot in terms of making me want to keep turning the page. Almost no character development kept the characters themselves a little dry. It was a bit stereotypical in that 99% of the superheroes were white and the enemy was a gang of tattooed Latinos. The organization was a little messy, and the descriptions were not vivid enough to paint a good picture. This book could have been a lot more creative had it been written by an author that was maybe a little more experienced.
