"I loved her more than I knew what to do with. I could see it all ahead of me: my future, my career, and her. The girl I knew would play the leading role in all of it. I'd thrown it all in with her, and I had no doubts. Not a single one. She was my teammate now."
"I love you,"
"A crazy fucking amount."
"I love you, too - "
"Most in the world."
This book made me so emotional. Shannon's family situation is so heartbreaking, and her relationship with her mother is very complicated. She struggled to know what to do with an abusive and manipulated husband while also having children whom she didn't want to be separated in foster care.
Shannon and Joey's bond is so beautiful and isn't a fairytale situation. It's messy and real, which I loved.
The found family and character development were amazing, and I highly recommend this book.
