Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return by Marjane Satrapi

3.0

Thought this book was interesting. Hearing about Satrapi's life in Austria was on one hand a basic coming of age story with all the experiences a teen may go through and on the other hand a rather sad story of a teen living on their own.
Satrapi's narrative and black and white graphics, like Persepolis I, give a very matter-of-fact story. It is up to the reader to provide the emotion. This worked for me for the most part except when she returns to Iran. I found it hard to sympathize with some of her actions without further explanation.
Overall this is an interesting book and I would recommend it especially if you have read the first book.
