The Power by Naomi Alderman

this is a very hard book to rate and if i didn't have to read it for class i wouldn't have read it at all. can't say if i found it brilliant or bloody terrible. i think i have to wait for my class to discuss this novel to actually form my opinion; i would have appreciated trigger warnings though because this novel includes SO much violence. the plot and characters prompted a colourful array of feelings in me, in my opinion it was very clever to choose a few POVs since i don't think the story would have worked as well if it had stuck to one character's point of view. i was not surprised at all to see that the author thanked Margaret Atwood for believing in this book since, without ever having read Atwood, this novel reads as a sort of antithesis as well as parallel to The Handmaid's Tale
