My first 5 star rating of 2023. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Pageboy. I haven't read a ton of celebrity memoirs, not for any particular reason other than they just don't seem appealing. Because Page and I have overlapping identities, I wanted to give his memoir a try. I really loved it. It's funny and sad and filled with humility. Although a celebrity, he never comes across as out-of-touch, and his experience was relatable to me, an average, non-famous person, lol. Pageboy is a book about relationships. Relationships with family, friends, lovers, and most notably, ourselves. And the trauma, heartbreak, pain, and possibility these relationships contain.
Moderate: Homophobia, Transphobia
Minor: Emotional abuse
