This was stupid. As a fan of the source material, and you must be a fan of that in order to get into this book, it's stupid in almost the right way. The humor pokes fun at the series, gamer culture (from a superficial perspective), fan-created content, and licensing concerns. It's self-reflective and absurd. I'd be lying if I said I didn't chuckle at some moments, but toward the end when the actual Angel attack happens and they board...portions of Evangelion units, I feel like the whole thing lost its momentum.

I have no strong desire to read additional volumes of the series. Doesn't mean I won't. Just means that I'm unlikely to go out of my way for them, so I'm much less likely to ever see them.
