Things in Jars by Jess Kidd

3.0

A fanciful read, Things in Jars is full of colorful characters like a housemaid who is seven feet fall, a ghost who was a fighter in life, and Bridie, the main character who is a female detective in Victorian times searching for a child with supernatural powers.⁣

I started reading this one and decided from the language it would be good on audio. I switched around the 4th chapter and am glad I did for the accents alone! I liked the nonlinear timeline that revealed things slowly and did not guess the ending. Overall though, this wasn't quite my jam - a little to otherworldly for me. If you like that sort of style, give it a try!
