1.5 and the half point is because the Vietnam War chapters were very interesting. Other than that, this book was a total flop for me. This is my fourth Hannah book (I’ve read The Nightingale, The Four Winds, and The Great Alone) and one thing I have seen in each is her attempt to paint communism in a positive light, bordering on propaganda. This will likely be my last novel by her.
