The first book in the series was my favourite Romania’s to date and I was SO excited for this book. That is to say I’ve never been more disappointed in a sequel. This book feels like the characters are totally different people and the relationship between the two main characters is totally random and feels forced. There were so many plot holes or pieces that I found predictable or didn’t really make sense and above all I cannot forgive how many times a scene should have gotten emotional or sad and it was completely skipped over. Bjorn finds out that the man he just killed IS his father who loved his mother deeply, that he had been tricked into thinking his father murdered his mom, his mom is (plot twist AGAIN) truly dead at his hand, his step-dad has never loved him and is the real villain who killed his mom, AND him and his love (that he just forced to murder 3000 people including her brother who were trying to rescue her) are trapped on an island to starve to death, and he SMIRKS WHEN FREYA TAUNTS HIM???????? Then they immediately bang??? She has been HATING him for months(?) and it’s snowing and she’s freezing and they decide to bang doggy style right after he kills his dad???? I truly can’t fathom.
