This is by the author of "Thank You, Omu!" which is a lovely book. Saturday begins with a calendar on the end-papers. You can see just how special Saturday is for Ava and her mother. One Saturday everything goes wrong. But with each mishap, "...They paused, closed their eyes, and - whew! - let out a deep breath." They don't pretend that the mishaps are not disappointing, but they each find a way to remember that "Saturdays are wonderful..." Reading this made me think of Daniel Tiger's song, "When you feel so mad that you want to roar, just take a deep breath....and count to four." A nice book for helping kids deal with little disappointments. Beautiful illustrations.
