The Bones of You
by Debbie Howells
The blurb lists this as a psychological thriller and I had high hopes of it being really creepy and disturbing. Which it was at the beginning and further in it was building to be a fascinating insight into destructive relationships and a controlling influence. However, it lost it's way about 2/3rds of the way in and started meandering back and forth between the characters without progressing the story line, in fact as far as I was concerned, it stuttered along until the last couple of chapters. I also felt a number of events that took place just didn't need to be in there and didn't help the story at all. So all in all, great start, shame about the end.
