I honestly didn’t think it was possible for me to dislike one of these books more than the first one.
It was very frustrating because I was really excited for what book two set up for this plot. I was excited to see her infiltrate the spring court and have all these tense moments with Tamlin but then I actually read it and there is practically none of that and then she returns to the night court after only a few chapters.
And I really did want to like this book. I was kinda enjoying it for maybe like the first quarter, but it quickly started to get incredibly boring. Like things were happening but it just wasn’t written in a way that was interesting to me. I think what it came down to was that the first two books were only good because of the romance and tension between the love interests. Now that the relationship was established there was nothing keeping going through the bad writing and poorly done plots.
The ending was especially disappointing to me. It was just like she was trying to write as many big twists as possible but none of them made sense. The only part I really liked was when Amren was released but then sjm turned around and ruined that by bringing her back.
Overall I was just very disappointed and bored by this book.
