Young Avengers, Volume 1: Style > Substance
by Kieron Gillen
(3.5 stars) A bit confusing, but then again, it's sort of meant to be.
It was pretty funny and had plenty of action. I would have liked Kate to be more relevant, because I love her, and for everyone to have more clear motivations, but like... it's fine. It's a fun read. If it's a little too confusing, I think it's because there's backstory I don't have, and that's nearly always a problem (unless it's a top-tier, friendly to beginners comic) so it's not unique to this volume.
Still, though. Marvel, get your shit together. I shouldn't go into every new comic wondering what twenty-three other volumes I should have read first.
