An interesting take on a magical world. In this world, magic can corrupt individuals, eventually turning them into Evercrys. It is the duty of the Knights of the Fair Lady to neutralize the Evercrys. The Knights are the only ones who can hear the song the Evercrys make.
Larissa's mother was the leader of the group. She left on her quest to find the Evercry that called to her over six years ago - and has not been heard from since.
Larissa has trained to be a Knight her whole life, but she doesn't like to fight and the thought of ending anyone is abhorrent to her. So she secretly turns to magic, eventually training to become a Drakkin.
Soon she's called on a quest to locate her missing mother. She and 2 Knights embark upon the adventure not knowing what they will encounter.
This book was so amazing and I was hooked right from the prologue. I highly recommend this book.
