A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
2.0

I had to read this book in a rush, because the library needed it for another person, so I skipped most of the text and focused on the dialogues - and I didn't feel like I missed out anything even though I literally skipped perhaps half of the book.
It was an easy read and I liked the setting (during WWI), but the dialogues were killing me. Too much "my friend", "dear friend" etc. in the dialogues made it seem fake in some way. I just don't believe people would say that in every other line.
And I didn't like Catherine at all. She was all over the place + I had a hard time figuring out how the characters were involved emotionally in the dialogues. I couldn't tell from the dialogue whether they were sad, excited or indifferent.
That being said, I do like Hemingway's style, but this book was just not working for me.
