The Hunted by L.A. Banks

2.0

It took me forever to read this book. And really, I don't know why I am still reading this series. The language is ridiculous. NOBODY TALKS LIKE THAT! Also, I end up getting do made at Damali and Carlos that it's not even funny. So, in this book, D and Carlos FINALLY get together and its super hot. Then, they have to go to Brazil to deal with this crazy thing that is eating humans. Carlos and D fight about it and she puts on a concert over there that is so hot it reaches the Vampire Council. There is this female that is calling for Carlos and he wants her bad because he thinks she's a vamp female that got ahold of Neteru scent, but really she is a fallen mother-seer who turned were-demon and is not crazy. D and Carlos fight and he wants to cheat on her, oh and one of the members of the vamp council knows that Carlos is playing both sides and tries to manipulate him to be with the were-demon. We meet a man from Marlene's past and he and Shabazz get all territorial about her. D and her team join up with Mar's ex and deal with the crazy were-demon former mother seer. They also kill the council member that is trying to manipulate Carlos, who then comes to save the day. I was super angry with how D and Carlos acted and that they can't just get over themselves and be together. We get it, Carlos was her destined soul mate but now he's not, but they love each other, always have and always will. Neither can stand the idea of the other with someone else, so get over it and learn how to deal with what you have. Oh, and did I mention that the language is ridiculous? Because it is. Also, the guy from Mar's past, he had an accent, but he did not always have his accent; it was very inconsistent, which was also irritating. However, I will read at least one more book. I do like D and Carlos and the team so I am not ready to give up on this series, but it's not guaranteed that I will finish the series.
