A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon

3.0

Much like Drums of Autumn, this book just wasn't my cup of tea. The book starts out with graphic violence, followed by more graphic violence and graphic rape and then focuses on some just terrible people. Gabaldon has crafted her characters well, but Wendigo, Malva and Allan Christie, and Stephen Bonnet are not people I enjoy spending time with. It's not an overall fun read. There are a lot of the historical details I really enjoy, and some cool depictions of the leadup to the American revolution and 18th century medicine and science...but so much DRAMA. Things move along and a lot of old questions are answered, so it's a better read than Drums of Autumn at least.
