Rodda has built an amazing world in Rondo, filled with your favourite (and not so favourite) nursery rhyme and fairytale characters. Beautiful cover design.
The story was a little younger than I first expected, from the cover I thought it was YA, but it's more appropriate language and characters for kids 9-12yrs. I loved Mutt and Mimi as sympathetic characters, unfortunately I didn't warm to Leo, the protagonist. I found him a little judgemental. Mimi and the surrounding characters more than made up for him and most kids would love this story.
