I love VE Schwab so much that I think my expectations were a bit too high going into this novel. I think my biggest issue is I frankly disliked all the characters; but we were told upfront they were toxic. I liked the historical groundwork that she did and the generational theme but the pacing was off at times and I wish the timeline was more linear. Like you get introduced to Alice early but don’t get a lot of her perspective until later. Idk it was good but my least favorite of all her novels I’ve read.
