Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

5.0

Get the audiobook if you can. Trevor Noah reads it himself and does a great job. Although it is a book by a comedian, it isn’t funny nor is it intended to be. There are certainly funny parts, but the memoir is about growing up in South Africa during and post Apartheid. I didn’t know much about South Africa, so I learned a lot. Some of it does hit pretty hard though, especially at the end.
