I really appreciated how this book explored the innate, spiritual beauty of women and humanity. There was also a strong mysterious element to the first half, which I enjoyed. I felt that the second half of the book did become a bit slow, but I patiently awaited the end. I don't really agree with the limited way that gender and sex are defined in this story, so I'm not sure I fully grasped the author's intended message. I had high expectations for this book, and although it is well-written and touching, it ultimately left me wanting.
