ok this books starts out so good, ari is a independent woman starting a new job in a "men's world" so she doesn't want any distraction, dalton is a hockey star, playing also in a new team and just broke up with his girlfriend from a few years so he's heartbroken and doesn't really want to date or even getting out but these two souls find each other when dalton is at the bar and doesn't want his ex to see him by himself, founds ari who laughed and he was all like "damn what a laugh, like sunshine" but no ari is no sunshine she's feisty and will beat you down if she needs to but he still approach her and needs her to be his fake girlfriend for the night tho she doesn't really want to at first she goes with it and they end up having an amazing night but they don't exchange numbers or even last names, funny thing dalton is a player from the team ari's going to start working and what you thought? they still need to pretend to be together so she's doesn't loses her job! ok big intro but basically is that, they fake date and obviously spend a lot of time together and since that first night dalton had a crush on her and ari, without admitting it, also finds dalton attractive but the longer they spend together the more she sees he's truly an amazing guy, so caring and always trying to take care of people, even ari who he only met a few days before and ari always like "no i don't need you i have my own money i can do it by myself" and i totally get it i do, specially if her entire family mostly the women have husbands and don't work and all, i get her reactions just a little less please, i love ari i do i feel like she's so fearless and in a job with a lot of men mostly she just hangs in there and does her job perfectly and it's so good to see i love her for her spirit too and also deep down she just needed to find someone who could care for her and also cheer her on too and dalton also needed someone how could choose him no matter what and always be there for him without a second thought or second intentions and so happy both of them find that in each other!!
their journey was funny, hot, cute and oh so beautiful, both were alone and now they have each other! i just wish we could see more of them fake dating you know? more like "fake" kisses or "fake" dates and all but at the same time, dalton realises pretty "early" he truly wants her for real and tells her and then ari ends up obviously admitting it too so it was still so good! also the mexican culture was so interesting too tho some i knew right but still so fun to read about and seeing in books, it's a big part of the book and i love how marie does this and tho it might not be everyone's story, it's some and maybe some isn't but that's the way it is and idk it's not my place to fully talk about it but i loved it and it was fun!
so yeah overall, i had the best time with this book, ari isn't my cop of tea but she's fearless she goes after her dreams without apologising and with her all and fights for what she believes and defends what she believes and god the way she's so protective of dalton i love her, im not like that maybe the protective part i am but the other stuff and how she didn't want anyone specially a man with her and all im not like that but queen she's a inspiration indeed! dalton my man my boo my sweetie pie ugh i love him and the way he fell in love with ari and her greatness and sometimes grumpiness (in a good way not bad) is truly amazing haha i love their banter a lot, he's so caring and he cares deeply about the people he loves, like monroe (the coach) and jimenez the teammate and best friend and then ari obviously and he's always the one who takes care of everyone so he needed someone like ari to truly also be there for him and take care of him, tho monroe and jimenez are close too so ugh idk dalton stole my heart truly!!!
also gracie, ari's cousin and close friend was so fun too, can't wait for her book even tho this one hasn't come out yet i already need her book and also jimenez period!!
you should read this book once it comes out and SO EXCITED FOR MORE IN THIS WORLD AA
