American Vampire, Vol. 4 by Scott Snyder, Rafael Albuquerque, Jordi Bernet

4.0

A plea by a band of Native North Americans to their version of a blood god goes unheard in the first tale in this volume. Another in the list of the deadly adventures of Skinner Sweet, said first tale almost inspired me to put down this book- I've never been one for "westerns." Luckily, I begrudgingly continued and met Travis, the clever hunter sporting wooden fangs so that he can "bite back." The final series of stories finished even stronger than previous volumes with the introduction of Poole- a black hybrid vampire hunting for Morning Star while also navigating the racially charged South. All-in-all, this was one of my favorite books in the series so far.
