I picked up Nettle and Bone after author HM Long raved about it. I don't know what I expected of this book, but it wasn't what I left with. This tale was dark and surprisingly funny. I found myself cringing and then laughing a few pages later.
Kingfisher is a master at storytelling. This felt like a grim fairytale; nostalgic. This is truly an original piece of work you will not find anywhere else. I've never read anyone that can execute an unsettling and masterful piece of work the way Kingfisher can.
Overall I give this book 4.5 stars and would recommend to anyone that has a sense of humor and enjoys dark tales.
