4.5

Just has funny as the previous two books, this one finds Locke and Jean forced to help rig an election in an effort to save Locke’s life after the end of Red Seas Under Red Skies. We finally get to meet Sabetha, Locke’s lost love, and she turned out to be a better character than I was expecting. Female characters written by male fantasy authors can be touch and go, but though I had my eye roll moments I enjoyed her for the most part. I’m interested to see what comes next.
