King and the Dragonflies by Kacen Callender
5.0
ugly crying rn. this is one of the most beautiful books i've ever read.
my 13 year-old queer self would've loved to read this, and I'm happy I did now. i felt so much comfort while reading this book. it's everything I've ever wanted. the way it talks about grief it's just beautiful as well, and I wish there had been more books like this accessible to me when I was younger. still though, reading it now, it feels like I've gotten closure and my inner child is healing somehow, and that everything is going to be okay, even if things aren't right now.
it was just such a wonderful (and did i say beautiful?) read that i think everyone would enjoy. kacen callender is truly doing god's work by writing books that i can assure you are saving lives.
