Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
by Philip K. Dick
It was... interesting? Not going to lie, the movie is far better.
The bits on Mercerism was boring and of no interest to me, and the Androids in question (apart from Rachel, and even she was rather unlikeable) were unlikeable and unrelatable. It seemed to defeat the purpose of the themes implied in the title.
I did like the bit concerning the Animal Catalogue, and Deckard's desperation for a real animal. It was enjoyable and intriguing, as Science Fiction should be.
But all in all, once the book was over, I was rather underwhelmed. Perhaps this is because I was expecting an expansion on the fantastic movie. Instead, I got a book that was completely different, (I know it came first, you haters. But oftentimes books are more dense than the films they spawned, and contain much more interesting detail) and expanded upon things I cared nothing about.
