The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
4.0
I LOVEEEEE the MC. She is literally me, to a T. It’s crazy, just craziness. She is though probably a bit more organized than me, but she is definitely my aspirational organized self (lol).
Now, I really REALLY would like to give this 5 stars, but I can’t get over the MC’s love interest. I really do NOT like him. He is totally insensitive and is only interested in his romanticized viewpoint of her. When she finally lets her mask slip a bit and starts acting like a normal flawed human being, he freaks. Nina is a very, very sensitive being (10000% an autistic-coded character) who struggles with panic attacks (which are probably autistic shutdowns), of which he can’t seem to understand, or even WANT to understand them.
When she tried to communicate to him on how she needed space for the sake of her mental health, for she could barely speak, he completely ghosted her like an asshole. I really despise him, and if she didn’t end up him again in the end, this would’ve been 5/5 stars.
