This wasn’t good but it was entertaining and I couldn’t stop reading. I don’t see how this book is YA with all the drugs and alcohol and abuse but oh well. You have to suspend your disbelief a lot with this book, nothing makes sense and nothing is realistic but I think thats the purpose of this book.
Neil Josten is running away from his murderer criminal father and so he has created a new life for himself over and over until he gets to Millport, Arizona where he’a a Exy player for his high school. There, Coach Wymack and Kevin arrive to take Neil with them to play for the Foxes. Nothing really happens, it just Neil adjusting to his team mates and more so to Andrew and Kevin. Andrew is very suspicious of Neil and his intentions towards Kevin. I guess this is just the build up for the other two books. For now to me it doesn’t make sense why Andrew wants and can protect Kevin and Neil from a mafia family but hopefully in next book it’s revealed. Theres only one scene where they have a game and everything else is just them picking fights with each other. Until the end when supposedly Riko kills or sends someone to kill Seth because of Neil standing up for Kevin in the interview. I want them all to kiss and shut up lmao. The writing is not that bad is just the story is very fan fiction-y.
