A wonderful look into the inner workings of what it is to be a woman in Uruguay under dictatorship. This story revolves around these women looking for escape while also trying to find a place where they can show their true identities and learn who they really are.
Graphic: Rape, Sexual violence, and Suicide
This is a wonderful book that must be approached cautiously as it does contain Rape, sexual violence against women, and a suicide scene. This book is very emotionally taxing but is so important to understanding what happens under an oppressive dictatorship.
