The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur

4.0

I enjoyed this quite a bit more than Kaur's first collection! First, there were several longer poems which I think was a major strong suit for the author. The literary elements seemed elevated and there was a great display of craft. Moreover, it felt, especially in the first 3 chapters, that Kaur was being so authentic in the tales she was providing - not just giving the reader something generic we could all connect to, but telling very personal stories that we could envelop ourselves in even if we'd never experienced something similar. Many many poems in here made me stop and think and feel. I will probably buy a physical copy of this one.
